Ready to join the club? get a pen pal!
your three step guide to getting an in-game pen pal
Registration for a round starts on the first of every month and ends on the 15th. During this time you will be able to fill out a form (like the one above) and you will be added into the pool.
Once registration has ended it will be locked until the next month.
read about how we protect your information
On the 15th day of every month we will randomly match you with another islander - this is an exciting day for us!
Our matching takes into consideration your age and the age group you wanted to get matched against into consideration. Sometimes we’ll have an odd number of people to match so if you checked a specific box in the form we may match you up with two people.
Read our disclaimer about matching
Once everyone is matched we will send you an email with details about your new pen pal! You will be able to add them, reach out and meet in game so you can send each other cards.
We want to allow everyone two weeks to get to know their pen pals so we’ll meet you back here on the first of the month for the new registration period!
how to get the most out of the pen pal expereince and staying safe while you are at it
Although we are not affiliated, our friends at the geek girl pen pal club have an excellent page on real life pen pal safety you should totally read.
Here are some of our pointers specifically for Animal Crossing:
You have the ability to report someone in-game for inappropriate content, block communication on your Switch and we would appreciate it if you reach out to us so we can have them removed from future pools.
Once you sign up for the pen pal club and match with a person we cannot be held responsible for any communication in or outside of the game between you and that person including any in-game gift exchange.
Please use common sense, read out safety tips, don’t share your personal information, report and avoid any behaviour that seems suspicious or make you feel uncomfortable in any way.
We’re really big on short privacy policies that are easy to read and understand. So Here’s everything you need to know about using this site and how your information is being handled.
Your switch code, email and all information you fill in the forms is kept in a secure database and will never be sold or shared with advertisers. We are working on an option to completely wipe yourself the database, for now, feel free to send an email to hi@animalcrossingpenpal.club and we’ll be happy to accomodate.
The thing that matches you and other people is a computer algorithm, your information is not exposed to any human to manipulate or influence matching. Your information is private, even in the context of the service we offer.
Google Analytics so we can keep track of how many people are getting on the site.
In case you were wondering, this is an Animal crossing fan site offering service for fans. We are not affiliated with Ninendo or have any relationship with the Animal Crossing franchise other than being fans.
